Susanne Portanova, is a 30 year resident of Cary, N.C. Her ceramics are hand crafted and sculpted. She creates functional and decorative ceramics that can stand alone or work together to make an artistic expression. Her works are diverse in shape, color, weight and design giving her work a harmonious appeal. They are meant to be held, touched and loved.

Born in Stockholm , Sweden. Susanne favors the clean elements that make up the hallmark of Scandinavian design and lend themselves perfectly to her. Ceramic creations. She studied studio art at Smith College in Northampton, MA.

Stoneware is locally purchased. High fired to cone 6 with food safe glazes. She recommends that ceramics be washed by hand.
