Mid-Century Dining Chairs by Johannes Andersen for Uldum Møbelfabrik - Set of Six

$3,895.00

Set of six Scandinavian dining chairs designed by Johannes Andersen for Uldum Møbelfabrik, circa 1960s. Crafted from warm teak wood to form a unique frame. The backrest is arguably the most eye-catching design feature. Rectangular shaped with curved edges and an opening in the middle. The middle makes the backrest look as if it is floating within the frame, a common thread with Andersen’s designs. Another perk of the open back is the ability to highlight the dining table it is paired with instead of blocking the line of sight.

The rest of the frame follows a similar motif as the back, especially the crossbar connecting the front and back legs. Every opportunity for rounded edges and curves is taken showcasing attention to detail and fantastic craftsmanship. The upholstered seats are original, white with a crosshatch geometric pattern. Upholstery is in good condition with very minor signs of wear present. Keep as is or a great candidate for customization. In overall great vintage condition with minor wear consistent with age and use.

Dimensions:

19” W x 18” D x 30” H

Seat height: 17.5”
