Mid-century model Ry-20 sideboard designed by Hans. J. Wegner for RY Møbler, Denmark. This two-tiered beauty is a coveted piece of iconic mid-century design. Originally designed in 1949 and crafted from teak wood. This sleek double cabinet showcases the excellence found within Danish design.
Comprised of two cabinets, the bottom section features six smooth sliding drawers. Drawers of varying sizes are arranged in two banks, on the left and right-hand side. The drawers have solid wood sculpted square pulls, continuing the streamlined aesthetic. The upper section has two glass sliding doors that open to five internal adjustable teak shelves. Each cabinet has great storage capability with display options within the upper cabinet or atop both cabinets.
Though the idea of having two credenzas, well designed and substantial storage, is quite appealing - our favorite part is the side profile. The sides of the unit connect the two sections together and stabilize. The tiny details in the sides is just perfect. Rounded corners, thick slightly tapered legs, excellent wood grain, square cutout mid-section - I could go on.
This is the perfect piece for those who need storage and display options without sacrificing too much depth in a room. For both those who have minimalist or retro styles. In great vintage condition with minor wear consistent with age and use.
