Mid-century tension single bay wall unit. The ‘Omni System’ unit was designed by George Nelson, circa 1960s. Featuring two cases and two shelves. The top case features a drop-down door with great internal storage. The bottom case has a bank of three drawers. The handles are carved, recessed, and oval shape that have a Danish inspired aesthetic.
The two shelves are slim, black, and look fantastic with the railings. The shelves are not original as they have been cut to size and lacquered. All shelves and cases are modular and adjustable to your preference.
The rails are aluminum with black accents which give this piece an industrial look and contrasts with the warm walnut wood tone nicely. This unit is designed to be tension installed, meaning the top touches the ceiling and therefore could float without wall mounting. The square brackets atop the railings are adjustable in height reaching a max of 101”. However, if your home or office has higher ceilings, this piece can be mounted to the wall or with use of bracket extenders.
A unique and versatile unit with a style that would work well with many different aesthetics. In overall fantastic vintage condition with minor wear consistent with age and use.
