Mid-Century Rectangular to Circular Expanding Dining Table by Svend Madsen
Mid-century dining table made circa 1960s by Svend Aage Madsen, Denmark. This teak dining table is beautifully made, rarely seen, and extremely unique. The tabletop transforms from a rectangle, with smooth rounded edges, into a perfect circle once leaves are expanded. This allows the end-user the best of both worlds; ability to change the entire look of a dining room in one swift motion. We love a piece that can transform and never tire of as it is easily changed, the piece is the perfect example of that.
Made from warm resilient teak wood with excellent grain throughout the tabletop. The supporting frame underneath creates a floating illusion and adds great dimension. The frame connects to long tapered teak legs. In overall fantastic vintage condition with minor wear consistent with age and use. A wonderful opportunity for the collector or an individual who wants a truly special addition to their home.
Rectangle Dimensions:
57” W x 33.5” D x 28.5” H
Circle (Leaves Expanded) Dimensions:
57” D x 28.5” H
