Vintage pair of ‘Clam Shell’ chairs designed by Seymour James Weiner for Kodawood, circa 1950s. This pair is simply stunning with comfort to match. Sculptural with vibrant upholstery.
Made from sleek warm walnut that give this pair their distinctive silhouette. The backrest and seat are curved that mimic the shape of a clam shell - hence the name. The backrest connects with the tall tapered walnut legs by brass accents that pop against the warm wood tone.
This pair was previously reupholstered in a vibrant striped fabric. The color is chartreuse with alternating bands of solid color and a lighter multi-threaded stripe. We absolutely love this interesting fabric and color. Fabric is in great condition without rips, stains, or tears. The wooden frame is great shape with minor wear consistent with age and use. A truly beautiful pair that combines Danish influence and American design.
