1950’s Eames LCW lounge chair second edition design. Made from molded walnut plywood and designed by Charles and Ray Eames. Eames developed the advanced wood-molding technology that served as a blueprint for the design of this lounge and the following iconic ‘Eames lounge.’
The backrest and seat are decoupled into separate curved forms. They are joined together by a molded spine. The chair is supported by u-shaped legs with original shock mounts present.
This chair has the 5-2-4 assembly which is the specific arrangement of screws securing the chair components underneath the seat as pictured. The LCW mark is also found underneath the seat. This configuration dates the chair to the early 1950s.
A fantastic collectors item that is comfortable and visually stunning from every angle. In overall great vintage condition with minor wear consistent with age and use. There are scratches present on the seat and minor chips in the backrest. No structural issues or instability to note.
