Mid-century set of six model no. 78 dining chairs designed by Niels Otto Møller, Denmark. Manufactured circa 1960s and crafted from rosewood with original handwoven cording. This model was originally made in either teak or rosewood, rosewood being the harder to find wood species. These dining chairs are some of our favorites due to the incredible craftsmanship, comfortability, and subtle design details. They are extremely versatile for any aesthetic or any style table.
The frames are made from rosewood with gorgeous grain throughout. The backs are curved creating a comfortable seated position and supported by three horizontal supports. The corners of the backrests have pointed finials further showcasing the craftsmanship and adding the perfect design detail. The frame is continuous into the back legs which are also slightly curved. Both the front and back legs taper toward the ground. The front legs support and accent the seat nicely with pointed tops that match the backrests.
We are offering this set as is with original cording or reupholstered in a fabric or leather of your choice. Original cording is a dark neutral tan in color and does present signs of wear and use.
