Postmodern dining chairs designed by Torstein Nilsen for Westnofa, Norway. If you are looking for some extremely unique dining chairs that work well with a variety of tables and make an impact - the Totem chairs are for you. The chair is made from ebonized wood with a slatted back rest. The black color gives great contrast against any table and makes an impact. The color gives the set a “gothic” look blended with 80’s Memphis style.
The slatted backrest is quite comfortable for back support. Between the slats are small red wooden spheres that look as if they have been suspended within the chair. The backrest tapers down and transitions from slats to a rectangular back leg. The rectangular shape motif is continued in the two front legs. This set includes four side chairs and two armchairs. The armchairs have wonderfully arched armrests. Original cherry blossom fabric in good condition, but would be a great candidate for a reupholstery revamp. Overall in great vintage condition with minor wear consistent with age and use. We love this set and may be a little partial as we have the same set in our home paired with a marble table.
